AYEPO organized a soft skills program for high school and university students which hosted more than 50 youth. We believe that students can thrive in academic and professional life at the time that in addition to textbooks they learn new and practical skills and that enable them to convey their ideas and messages in an effective manner and also handle serious situations while taking care of overall scenario, and they are able to work and motivate others and capable of driving change and leading groups and teams. Based on the importance of soft skills and leadership skills, Afghanistan Youth Empowerment and Peace-building Organization conducted the training during July 2019 which covered the following topics but not limited to:
- Interpersonal communication
- Problem solving
- Team work
- Communication skills
- Time management
- Effective listening
It was a very interactive program in which the participants engaged in discussions, reflected on the learning and shared their ideas and experiences with one another. This was combined with other activities and topics, such as videos about team work, inspiring participants about the importance of working together with versatility when problems arise, leadership qualities and styles, leadership versus management and employing problem solving skills as a leader.
